Tech's not the only industry that gets its humble beginnings in a garage. Many San Jose vintners began their passion with grapes in their own spaces and has expanded into the vineyards and tasting rooms we visit today. San Jose's rich agricultural history as the Valley of Heart's Delight provides the region so much abundance, including an assortment of wine and varietals! Sample award-winning bottles and take in stunning mountain views at one of the many wineries and California vineyards in and surrounding San Jose. Each of San Jose's surrounding AVAs (American Viticultural Areas) are distinct with its own unique climate and soil conditions that contribute to the flavor profile of the wines produced there.
San Jose Vineyards & Tasting Rooms
Begin your trip in the middle of it all. Visit Alamitos Vineyards, San Jose's only vineyard within city borders, a winery that's fast becoming an industry favorite. Or check our Coterie Winery, known for their natural approach to winemaking and a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere. Or, pick up a few bottles of J. Lohr Vineyards at their San Jose Wine Center, the first tasting room to open in Downtown San Jose since the Prohibition.
