Transportation Alternatives
Your Event Coordinator can assist you with arrangements for event shuttle service, light rail passes and schedule adjustments, overflow parking arrangements, bus service and drop-off locations, and other transportation alternatives for events at the San Jose Convention and Cultural Facilities.
Airlines
The San Jose Convention & Cultural Facilities are located within three miles of the San Jose International Airport terminal. San Jose is served by several major airlines, with either direct or non-stop flights to key cities across the United States.
Vehicular
Taxis, hotel shuttles, car rentals, limousines, and chartered buses (by arrangement) are ready to meet attendees' needs. Santa Clara County Transportation Agency buses connect with Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to the East Bay and on to San Francisco.
Light Rail
A 20-mile long, modern and efficient Light Rail Transit system connects San Jose hotels, motels, shops, and restaurants with the San Jose Convention & Cultural Facilities. Multi-day passes may be purchased from the Santa Clara County Transportation Agency for the Light Rail Transit system. For more information, contact your Event Coordinator.
Amtrak/Caltrain/Greyhound
Amtrak and the CalTrain commuter to San Francisco arrive at San Jose's depot across from the San Jose Arena, one half mile from the San Jose Convention & Cultural Facilities. The bus depot is in the center of downtown.
Interstates
Attendees driving into the city enter via U.S. 101, Interstates 280, 680 and 880 (Highway 17) and use Highway 152 as the connector between Interstate 5 and U.S. 101. Expressways provide point-to-point routes within the city.
Driving Directions to the San Jose McEnery Convention Center
280 Southbound (from San Francisco, Half Moon Bay, Stanford, Los Altos):
- 280 South to the Vine Street/Almaden Boulevard Exit
- Turn left onto Almaden Boulevard
- Convention Center parking entrance will be on the right
101 Southbound (from San Francisco, Burlingame, San Mateo, Palo Alto):
- 101 South to the Guadalupe Parkway/87 Exit
- Continue on Guadalupe Parkway (87)
- Take Park Avenue/San Carlos Street Exit, turn left
- Turn right on Almaden Boulevard
- Convention Center parking entrance will be on the left
17/880 Southbound (from Berkeley, Oakland, Hayward, Fremont, Milpitas):
- 17/880 South to the Coleman Avenue Exit
- Turn left on Coleman Avenue and continue on Coleman
- Coleman becomes Market Street (toward Downtown San Jose)
- Turn right on San Carlos Street
- Turn left on Almaden Boulevard
- Convention Center parking entrance will be on the left
17 Northbound (from Santa Cruz, Los Gatos):
- 17 North to Downtown San Jose/280 South Exit
- Take 280 South to the Vine Street/Almaden Boulevard Exit
- Turn left onto Almaden Boulevard
- Convention Center parking entrance will be on the right
680 Southbound (from Sacramento, Concord, Walnut Creek, Livermore, Milpitas):
- 680 South until it becomes 280 North at the 101 interchange
- Continue on 280, take the Bird Avenue Exit, turn right
- Turn right on San Carlos Street
- Turn right on Almaden Boulevard
- Convention Center parking entrance will be on the left
101 Northbound (from Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Hollister, Los Angeles):
- 101 North to San Jose
- 101 intersects with 280, take the 280 North Exit
- Continue on 280, take the Bird Avenue Exit, turn right
- Turn right on San Carlos Street
- Turn right on Almaden Boulevard
- Convention Center parking entrance will be on the left
Parking Garage
Space Availability
The Convention Center Garage has 1,000 spaces for general event use.
Rates
Current rates are available from your Event Coordinator. Rates are in effect seven days a week and are subject to change without notification.
Hours of Operation
The standard open hours of the Convention Center Garage are:

6:00 a.m. 1 hour after the last event hour in our facilities. |
| Saturday-Sunday : |
7:00 a.m. 1 hour after the last event hour in our facilities. |
Operating hours may be changed for specific event needs.
Entrances/Exits
The entrances to the Garage are located on Almaden and on Market Street. Both are generally open during all operating hours.
Clearances
The Almaden garage entrance clearance is 8' 2" and the Market Street entrance clearance is 6'10".
Passes
Daily passes with unlimited in/out privileges are available to anyone at anytime. In/out passes are sold on a space available basis only and fees are due upon entry each day.
Special Arrangements
The Convention Center Garage allows you to pre-purchase attendee parking passes for your events. Authorization for the use and distribution of parking passes must be approved at least sixty (60) days in advance by your Event Coordinator. Unauthorized passes will not be honored.
