Event Services

Once you've booked your meeting or convention in San Jose, our Convention Services team offers personalized services, including:
  • Civic official liaison – ribbon cuttings, proclamations, welcome letters, and opening/closing general sessions or ceremonies

  • Convention housing – inventory control for hotel room blocks, online booking, personalized e-mail address for reservations, weekly reports, acknowledgments confirmed via email, fax or mail, on-site housing assistance, VIP and exhibitor room blocks, and personalized hotel maps

  • Meeting planner site visits – accommodation arrangements, agenda for site visits, airport pick-up, and staff escort for site locations

  • Merchant awareness program – welcome banners, street pole banners, welcome signs in merchant windows, and distribution of general information to downtown merchants and businesses

  • Registration personnel – professional, qualified and reliable on-site registration personnel, bonded cashiers, data entry/typists, and experienced convention staffing

  • Speaker’s Bureau – recommend local and Bay Area leaders from various disciplines, including business, education, cultural arts, non-profit and government to serve as potential keynote speakers or panelists.

Her wealth of knowledge, expertise, and customer service have enabled her to work seamlessly in the corporate, educational, entertainment, sports, association markets.

Nancy E. Kilgore ensures that all event requirements for clients are met: function room set ups, audio/visual and production requirements, food and beverage service, staffing and much more. Nancy has been involved in the event planning field for almost 20 years, serving with various corporations including Hyatt and Hilton. Nancy also served as the Director of Convention Services on the opening team of the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Richard has served our clients for over 8 years in Event Services. He joined the Convention Center & Cultural Facilities staff from the University of California Santa Cruz, where he was the Facilities Manager for over 7 years. Prior to this, he was the Office Manager and P.R. Director for a non-profit organization and worked 14 years in the airline industry. Richard brings over 30 years of experience in excellent customer service.

Regina Urquidez begans working in Hospitality industry since 1990. She also has extensive Nestle corporation for a little over 1 year. Now with TSJ family for 6-7months. Really enjoy interaction with people. Somehow there is always a solution to every challenge. Teamwork is key to any success. The reward is a happy client, a returning client. So many different venues, make for so many different types of events. I really enjoy being part of the Senior Event Services Team with TSJ and representing San Jose.

Anthony Alston oversees all events held in the Center for the Performing Arts and Montgomery Theater. Mr. Alston has 15 years of event management experience and holds a Theater Management, Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Yale School of Drama/Yale University.
