Partnering with the Stanford Theater Foundation, the California Theatre movie series began with a holiday season series and expanded last year to include summer dates for audiences to enjoy an affordable Downtown San Jose night out.

In addition to experiencing a classic movie, a Wurlitzer Organ has been fully restored for guests to enjoy in the lobby in the California Theatre before each show. This classic piece was once the main auditorium organ in the Fox Riverside Theater. The restored organ is a wonderful asset to the classic theatre. In addition, each night will include a classic cartoon followed by the movie feature.

Don’t miss this unique theatre experience. The California Theater is located at 345 South First Street in Downtown San Jose.

Located in the heart of Downtown San Jose and originally built in 1927, the 1,119-seat movie palace has been transformed into a major performing arts center by adding state-of-the-art audio and video technology to the original structure during renovation and its reopening in 2004. More summer movie series information will be available soon at www.sanjose.org.
