Classic stories from the Middle East, with their poetry, mystery, and humor, have long fascinated the west (think of Aladdin and The Arabian Nights). The story of Kismet is one such exotic gem; winning the 1954 Tony for best musical. Kismet is the story of Hajj, a beggar poet, who, in one 24-hour period, is caught in a complex web of danger, humor, and love. Its score, by Robert Wright and George Forrest, is adapted from the lush melodies of Alexander Borodin, and features "Stranger in Paradise."
Nearby pay parking lots include a surface lot on the northeast corner of Market and San Carlos, a lot under the Convention Center (just across San Carlos, entrance on Almaden Boulevard), and a lot under Scott's Restaurant (entrance on Park, between Almaden and Market).
