Lick Observatory
Located atop Mt. Hamilton overlooking the Santa Clara Valley. Daily guided tours of the telescopes and refractors. Gift shop.


We invite the public to view exhibits in the main Observatory building built in 1888. Enjoy an informal talk about Lick history while taking a look at the Great Lick Refractor in the 36inch telescope dome. These tours begin at the Gift Shop on each half hour starting at 100pm on weekdays and 1030am on weekends continuing until 430pm. Each talk is about 15 minutes long and there is no charge.

Special Events
The two summer events that happen yearly are the Music of the Spheres concert series and the Summer Visitor Programs.These will be in June to September and include looking through the 36 refactor and astromony lectures as part of the evening events. Ticket sales will start in May 2007 more info is on the web.
