TO HIGHLIGHT LOCAL ATTRACTIONS AND FOSTER CITY PRIDE
 

 

 

(SAN JOSE, CA) – Visit San Jose, the official destination marketing organization for the City of San Jose, congratulates LUNA Mexican Kitchen in their inclusion of Bib Gourmand establishments in the inaugural edition of the 2019 MICHELIN Guide California.
 

LUNA Mexican Kitchen, located at 1495 The Alameda, in the Alameda neighborhood of San Jose, offers fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine with an ingredient-first approach. Specials rotate with the seasons, focusing on sustainability and clean food.
 

LUNA is Spanish for “moon,” but it also stands for Local Unrefined Natural Authentic. Their commitment to fresh, local ingredients and hand-crafted recipes and preparation is what contributed to their well-deserved Bib Gourmand award.

LUNA Mexican Kitchen joins two other South Bay regional restaurants honored with a Bib Gourmand selection. Orchard City Kitchen in Campbell and The Bywater in Los Gatos also received the designation, expanding San Jose’s regional culinary scene to more Michelin-rated restaurants.
 

LUNA Mexican Kitchen joins 151 Bib Gourmand restaurants in California. Originally introduced in 1997, the Bib Gourmand category highlights restaurants that serve high-quality meals which include two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less. In addition to the exceptional restaurants distinguished by star awards, Michelin inspectors take great pride in finding hidden gems to complete the selection that are more widely accessible for diners, whatever their budget or craving.

The complete selection in the 2019 MICHELIN Guide California, including the Michelin stars, will be unveiled on June 3 and available for public purchase on June 6.
