La Honda Winery

The name ‘La Honda Winery’ arises from the bucolic, pastoral, and some might say infamous mountain town of La Honda where the winery grows its estate Pinot Noir and Sangiovese. The vineyards are located just east of the Red Barn on the north side of twisting, snaking Highway 84, west of Skyline Road in Woodside. La Honda Winery and Post & Trellis Vineyards painstakingly farm over fifty private estate vineyards located along the Santa Cruz Mountains between San Francisco and San Jose in the towns of La Honda, Woodside, Hillsborough, Portola Valley, Atherton, Los Altos Hills, Saratoga and Los Gatos.

These diverse locations are key to growing the perfect fruit for each different wine. Then we highlight their unique attributes through devoted small batch winemaking and by merging state-of-the-art equipment with old-world craftsmanship. With 50 vineyards up in the hills between Woodside and Los Gatos we could have located ourselves anywhere locally.  Instead of being another remote winery, we chose our urban location to build a beautiful stone and wood filled winery in an extremely convenient location to produce the wine and entertain guests.
