Veterans Memorial

Veterans Memorial San Jose/Santa Clara Valley is a commemorative public art installation created to honor the commitment of individuals who took time from their lives to serve the needs of our nation via service in one of the 5 branches of the military.   

A nationwide design competition was held to determine the specific design.  It is a field of flag poles in formation representing a company behind a glass wall with many life-size figures of military personnel in uniform from many eras.  On the face of the glass wall are approximately 50 textual remembrances of their time in service to America.  All of these were culled from over 3000 submissions from Santa Clara  Valley veterans. It is a place to take a time out to remember the sacrifices Veterans have all made.
