Hart's Dog Park
The Downtown Association, working with property owners, has created a dog park – the first of its kind in downtown San Jose – to give the rising dog population downtown a place to play off leash. The new park is 2,000 square feet and includes a double gate, artificial turf, benches, decorative (and energy-efficient) lighting, planters and tree stumps for play. A mural by local artist Tom Colla on the wall gives the park its name – Hart’s Dog Park – named after a former long-time downtown department store. The park will remain in place until the site is developed.
